The Black Members Group at UNISON Yorkshire and Humberside have again secured funding for the Leeds Black History Walk in conjunction with Leeds Heritage Corner on Saturday 13 July at 2pm.
This is their 15th year anniversary and we welcome the opportunity to participate in the walk again with the theme of their ‘Carnival Special’ which focuses on the history behind Emancipation in the West Indies and local connections historically.
The walk will take place after the Black Members Group meeting, with lunch at 12pm before setting off. The meeting point is the steps of the Parkinson Building at the University of Leeds, Woodhouse Lane. The History walk will last 2 hours and promises to be interactive.
