A multi-academy trust with 14 schools across Bradford has reinforced its commitment to preventing violence in the workplace by working with UNISON.
At a meeting today, Exceed Academies Trust signed the union’s Violence at Work charter, which it says sends a clear message that violence towards staff will not be tolerated.

UNISON says the partnership will see schools and the union working together to protect employees from abuse, aggression and assault.
The charter commits the trust to deliver conflict management training, strengthen risk assessments, enhance support for staff affected by violence, and improve how incidents are reported.
UNISON Bradford branch secretary Linda Crowther said: “Violence towards any employee is completely unacceptable. I’m delighted Exceed Academies Trust has signed the union’s charter and made clear its commitment to preventing violence at work.
“Exceed Academies Trust is setting an example for other employers across Bradford to follow and hopefully many more will now sign up.”
Exceed Academies Trust chief executive officer Duncan Jacques CBE said: “Our staff deserve to feel safe, respected and protected every single day. Violence of any form – whether physical, verbal or psychological – has no place in our schools or workplaces.
“By partnering with UNISON and aligning our practices with the Violence at Work charter, we are reaffirming our absolute commitment to staff wellbeing and safety.
“We are proud to work alongside UNISON in championing safer working environments, and ensuring our staff have the support, training and protection they deserve.”
