UNISON Equality - Black members - Facing racism in the workplace

Racism at work

If you think you are experiencing racial discrimination in your workplace, there are 5 key things we advise.

  1. Contact your branch ASAP to get advice and support.
  2. Keep a diary of what has happened.
  3. Start to write a timeline of what happened and when.
  4. Collect any relevant documents together.
  5. Keep an eye on the clock. Employment Tribunal claims must be lodged within 3 months (less one day) of the incident happening.

If you do not know your branch contact details, you can use our branch finder. If you have difficulties reaching them please contact the regional centre.
