Community

Are you a community sector member? There are around 85,000 workers for housing associations, small and large charities, not for profit organisations and voluntary organisations who make up the community sector of UNISON.

Even if you’re not a steward or representative of the union, you can still be updated with information on the level of pay increases in other organisations, and the terms and conditions of other employers similar to yours. This will provide you with the knowledge you require to try and get your employer to improve pay, and terms and conditions.

If you’re interested and want more information about what is happening in the Community sector, head to the page on the UNISON national website. Interested in finding a branch and learning if there are others like you to talk to? Click here to use our branch finder.

The UNISON Community and Voluntary sector has a conference each year, where members from all over the UK come together and share information and knowledge with other C&V sector workers. It provides an invaluable opportunity to chat with other members and to form networks of likeminded members.

Still not sure and need help? Contact your local branch who will be able to help. Your branch will be able to connect you with others in the Community Sector.

If you would like to get more involved in your union, your branch can help with that too, as well as signposting you to many development opportunities.
