Local Learning Hubs – This is a new initiative where we are working to bring regional training opportunities closer to you.

This face to face course looks at what the roles of the steward are and gives you the skills, knowledge and understanding to carry out these roles, for example recruiting members and involving them in the union and how to work with members to tackle problems at work.

  • How to raise issues in UNISON
  • Proportionality and fair representation
  • Interviewing members
  • Understanding your grievance and disciplinary procedures.

This course will run on 5, 6, 7, 8, 9 February 2024.

This course is 30 hours learning in total.

** This course is provided as part of a Y&H pilot initiative to make some core activist training provision closer to Branches via Local Learning Hubs.  On this occasion Branches will not be charged for delegates who are registered to attend for the full course.  Please note a fee of £150 per delegate will apply in cases of non-attendance/late cancellation, or where delegates do not complete the training.
