International Worker’s Memorial Day: reflection and remembrance in Yorkshire and Humberside

This year for International Workers’ Memorial Day UNISON Yorkshire and Humberside thought it was important to highlight the experiences that so many of our members have gone through in the last year.

Many of you have experienced loss and trauma or witnessed that of your colleagues and friends. You have also worked incredibly hard and selflessly through the pandemic in the service of the public.

UNISON Y&H would like to record and share some of your experiences here and through our social media channels to highlight and remind people of the impact the last year has had on those of you working in public service. We would like this to be an opportunity for reflection and remembrance for all of us.

Please use this form to write a brief reflection and share your thoughts. This is intended to be anonymous and we would ask for names of individuals not to be used out of respect for families and friends.

UNISON will also be asking all of our members who are able to take part in a minutes silence in their workplaces to remember those who have died in the last year, working to keep us safe and caring for our families. Please let us know of anything you or your employer are organising in your workplaces and branches.
