Black History Month Awards 2023
2023 is the year of the Black worker and in October Sheffield Teaching Hospital UNISON branch are hosting and sponsoring an awards ceremony. This event is open to nominations from all Yorkshire & Humberside branches.
The event will be on Friday 13 October 2023, in Sheffield at a venue to be confirmed.
To make a nomination complete the form beneath the categories below. There are 8 different categories for awards to be made and these are:
- Black Inspirational Leader Award 2023 Eligibility: Any individual through their leadership, position and abilities are helping to create and deliver change.
- Community Work (Group/Organisation) Award 2023 Eligibility: Any group, organisation or individuals who work or volunteer to make a difference in their community for racial equality and inclusion.
- Company or Organisation Award 2023 Eligibility: Any company or organisation that is at the forefront of ensuring there is greater racial justice and equality within UK workplaces.
- Educator Award 2023 Eligibility: Any individual who works in the capacity of an educator, irrespective of environment, who has made a positive contribution to the learning outcomes for Black UNISON workers.
- Sporting Organisation Award 2023 Eligibility: Any sporting group or organisation that has built the confidence of Black sports people at community level.
- Trade Union Award 2023 Eligibility: Trade Union branches that have negotiated a policy and/or eradicated a practice within an employer that has resulted in a positive change for Black workers.
- Working with Young People Award 2023 Eligibility: An individual or organisation who works, specifically, withindividuals aged under 28 to influence and empower them.
- Young Person Award 2023 Eligibility: Any individual aged under 28 who, through their leadership, passion and abilities, have made a difference to deliver and create change.
