Raising awareness of the Migrant Worker Network

UNISON is calling on its migrant worker members in the Yorkshire and Humberside region to sign up to the union’s Migrant Worker Network.

The network is an informal group of UNISON members with a first generation immigrant background including overseas and migrant workers, EU settled status workers and workers who have subsequently naturalised as British citizens or who have indefinite leave to remain.

By joining the Migrant Worker Network, migrant workers will get targeted support and advice from UNISON, as well as helpful information.

All the information to join the network is available here.

UNISON Yorkshire and Humberside migrant workers lead Sarah Keig said: “The network is a really useful tool to help ensure migrant workers are getting the resources and support they need from their union.

“The treatment of some migrant workers in the region is frankly atrocious, and it’s vital UNISON knows about it in order to provide the best possible support to those affected.

“Joining the Migrant Worker Network is the best way to ensure workers are getting the advice they need.”
