Workers from both Barnsley College and Kirklees College are striking over their respective employers’ refusal to engage in pay negotiations.
Details of the strikes are as follows:
BARNSLEY COLLEGE
Staff will be taking a day’s strike action on Monday 11 September.
The main picket will be outside the main building (Old Mill Lane building) from around 7.10am, adjacent to the visitors’ entrance on Church Street. The picket is expected to be in place until 9.30am.

KIRKLEES COLLEGE
Staff will be striking on Monday 11, Tuesday 12, Wednesday 20 and Thursday 21 September.
The main pickets will be outside the main buildings (Waterfront Quarter and Springfield Sixth Form Centre) from 8am, opposite the college’s main entrances on Manchester Road, Huddersfield and Bradford Road, Dewsbury. The pickets are expected to be in place until 10.30am.
